Management Coaching Training for Partners of Law Firms

The objectives of the training are:

  • to enable lawyers to develop their managerial skills,
  • to transmit practical tools, useful for lawyers in their daily life then as partners,
  • to develop a spirit of promotion, even peer-to-peer practices.

Open to lawyers

Step 1: Preparation of the training

  • 30-minute telephone interview with each participant on topics such as: management topics you would like to cover in the training, those you feel comfortable with, those you feel fall short of the firm's expectations. 


Step 2: Training program

  • Module 1: Getting to know each other better with Lumina,
  • Module 2: Setting SMART objectives and delegating to an associate,
  • Module 3: Providing feedback and conducting an annual evaluation with an associate. This module will also include a section on: how to handle a difficult discussion. 
  • Module 4: Skillfully manage relationships within the firm, and develop alliances that will be useful.
  • Module 5: Better managing your emotions: knowing how to recognize them and use them to achieve your goals.
  • Module 6: The vision of the partner I would like to be and how to work towards it. 
  • Followed by two one-hour coaching sessions 

The training courses are structuring because they allow the lawyers to prepare themselves for their role as future partners, by giving them theoretical contributions on key concepts, but also practical tools to enable them to manage situations that they will encounter. 

The pedagogy chosen allows the lawyers to "breathe", by getting away, during a module, from the pressure of their daily life, linked to clients, their partners and the management of their candidacy, but also to know each other better and to create a spirit of promotion, which will be beneficial for the continuation of their development within their firm. 

The pedagogy articulates personal reflection, sharing in pairs and in sub-groups, with pooling.
